| This pub is a cracking find.
We've tended to major on The Volunteer, The Brewers, The Victory and
the like in this area - the walk further afield was well worth it. The range of food was much better than at standardised Inns (Brewer's Fayre, Toby and the like) but less pricey and eclectic as say Gilbie's The menu contained enough choices for us to look forward to future visits, and the wine list (as we have found with other Greene King outlets) is exceptional for its class. Difficult to pick out food choices to recommend - they're all good, but on the wine front try 'The Pass' New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. This wine was absoluteley supurb - perfectly chilled and a beautiful fruity character with subtlety usually reserved for the dearer French versions. We are looking forward to our next visit. |
