Comments…
Plenty of ales on offer from good local brewery.  Lagers are available for non-ale drinkers (bottled and draught).  Wines and spirits are available for the ladies.

The staff are very pleasant with a decent bar layout to make things smoother.  There is also now an extra bar outside on the site of the old brewery.

The decor isn't brilliant but if I wanted a wine bar I'd go to a wine bar.  There is a good atmosphere amongst the hustle and bustle of the pub.  Since the smoking ban the Barrels has obviously profitted from the excellent beer garden it boasts compared to most city centre pubs.

Good entertainment on offer in the form of table football, pool and a cracking jukebox which caters for most tastes.
